Plex, NVEC, and the TS-873.

Post by Rakeshpatel1991 » Wed Oct 07, 2020 10:45 pm

Hi everyone

got my first qnap, the ts873. Been dreamin about owning one for a year now, coming from a drobo 5d+gaming PC (1080ti+keylase patch) that does double duty as a plex server. i really was excited to have SSD write caching and take back my gaming PC.

I got a MSI 1050 TI that was listed as compatible on the qnap website, upgraded the ram to 40gb.

Transferred the data from my drobo (20 TBs), which took forever. Installed Nvidia Drivers + Kernel. Did a few reboots to be safe. Assigned GPU to QTS.
I fired up plex (have plex pass), created a library with a test video and transcoded it.

CPU instantly went up to 100% with 0 GPU usage.
I checked the plex logs and I see the following:

I installed the drivers from the app center, so I am not sure what to do here. Any help would be highly appreciated

Always include images in your post, don't link them to foreign sites

What is your installed Plex version ?

Best to ask in the Plex forum, if they say that there is an issue with QNAP, then open a ticket with QNAP
