Shared USB external disk (QNAP) not accessible on Linux desktop

Post by alain.roger » Sun Oct 18, 2020 7:31 pm

Hi,

on my QNAP i have several shared directories from RAID6 that Linux desktop can R/W.
I have 2 external USB disk that should hold backups of my QNAS and i would like to have a R/W access to them. However, i can not get access. Can you tell me why ?

in my /etc/fstab, i have for raid shared directories:

Code: Select all

//QNAP/Homes/alain	/mnt/qnap      			cifs vers=2.1,x-systemd.automount,x-systemd.device-timeout=60,iocharset=utf8,credentials=/home/alain/.smbcredentials,uid=1000,gid=alain,file_mode=0775,dir_mode=0775 0 0
and similar command for external USB disk:

Code: Select all

//QNAP/nas-backup-6tb	/mnt/wd-backup-6tb			cifs vers=2.1,x-systemd.automount,x-systemd.device-timeout=60,iocharset=utf8,credentials=/home/alain/.smbcredentials,uid=1000,gid=alain,file_mode=0775,dir_mode=0775 0 0
Unfortunatelly, external USB disk are not shared / accessible from my linux desktop. Why ?
thx
