Docker and python3 container issue : permission denied only on QNAP

Post by ptpouet » Thu Apr 16, 2020 8:00 pm

hi everybody,

I encounter an issue using a docker container on qnap, and so far I can't figure why :

I try to set up a jobeserver ( https://hub.docker.com/r/trampgeek/jobeinabox ) using the docker container.
I set up my docker container using :

Code: Select all

sudo docker run -d -p 4000:80 --name jobe trampgeek/jobeinabox:latest
then I can test the container using the built-in command :

Code: Select all

sudo docker exec -t jobe /usr/bin/python3 /var/www/html/jobe/testsubmit.py
On my Mac book pro, everything works fine : all test are passed using a fresh install.
but on my QNAP QS653-B its a total disaster : 90% of the tests fails, mainly du to access error (cannot open output file XXXXX: Permission denied ), like if python3 cannot write temp files on the container.

Does someone has ever encounter this kind of problem?? Any clue ?

Thanks and have a nice day

still digging but the issue seems to be related to the storage system used by Container station (set to overlay instead of overlay2)
Try to change it is my next move.
