[Suggestion] Multimedia Console, add suppress h265 thumbnail failed alerts

Post by Moogle Stiltzkin » Thu Jul 09, 2020 6:37 am

[Multimedia Console] Failed to generate thumbnail for xxxxxxxxxx [1080p][HEVC x265 10bit].mkv.
The reason for this is because the hevc support was removed from the codexpack qpkg.

So whenever multimedia management tries to generate thumbnails for h265 videos, it will say it failed.

We know the reason this, so can't they just suppress these constant alerts (because of my media is h265 videos). I'm constantly being bombarded with unhelpful failed thumbnail creations. We already know the reason for it, so it's quite unhelpful if it keeps nagging me about this each and everytime a new h265 gets stored on the QNAP.

i already forwarded this suggestion to helpdesk.

Even in pfsense, suricata, they have a feature that allows you to suppress alerts that are unhelpful or false alerts. i Only requested they add that for QNAP for these kinds of top right notification alerts, and possibly for even the logs.
