QSync client deletes and restores files

Post by thomas.huebner » Tue Dec 15, 2015 4:26 am

Hi,

since some time I have a strange behavior with my QSync client. Without any noticeable reason the QSync client deletes almost all files and directories in my QSync folder. For all the files and directories the GUI says that they where removed from NAS.
If I check the NAS /share/homes/xyz/.QSync/ and the web interface, all files and directories are still there. If I manually trigger the "synchronize with NAS" all files are restored on the client (GUI says file/directory xyzf added on NAS). But one day later the cycle starts again...

Anyone else noticed this very strange behavior?

My setup is:
TS-669 PRO running QTS 4.2.0 Build 20151118 (1 user)
Client MAC Book Pro running OS X 10.11.1 an QSync Client 1.4.0.1019

Regards,
Thomas

Hi,

I have the same problem. My Mac is a corporate image.
This situation seems to happen when I change network connection.
For example, when I shut down my machine at home, goes to office, some folders will get deleted when I start up at the office.
The Qsync icon at the top will show a tick and some of these files get deleted.
When I manually activate Sync with NAS now, these files get sync back and I can continue work.

When I go home, these files get deleted again. When I manually activate Sync with NAS now, these files get sync back again.

There must be some cache that's not updated properly after changing from Corporate network to Home network.

Anyone here has a workaround?

Thanks.

I have been facing the same issue which has escalated from a few files at first to a few hundreds now. I have chosen the qsync on both to replace the files on the NAS with local files.

Every time I switch on the mac some specific files get deleted from the mac on the first sync but when it syncs again the files are restored!

The windows machine faces no such issues. I see the others are also in the same boat with macs as well. Could that be the problem?

Has anybody come up with a solution?

I've also been having this issue of some files deleted and restored by QSync on my Mac and this is the only thread I've found about it.

Does anyone have any more info or hopefully a solution?

From the QSync log I can see it is always the same files that are deleted and restored, usually while my macbook is in sleep mode or right when woken up.

My setup:

QNAP TS-251+ v4.2.2 build 20160823
OSX 10.10.5 Yosemite with QSync client 2.0.1.0331
Windows 10 pc with QSync client 2.2.0.1016
Windows 8.1 pc with QSync client 2.2.0.1016
