Network Drive

Post by fanfanfan » Sat Aug 22, 2020 9:53 am

Hi! I wanted to create a simple network drive for my home and I have a Mac laptop. I tried to plug in a USB thumb drive to my router, and I did all the settings by logging into the router (Enable USB Devices to be Shared Storage via SMB, Enable media server). However, I am able to access all the files from the thumb drive by connecting to my network, but I can't add any files to the drive. It keeps giving me errors saying I do not have enough space.

On a side note, my thumb drive is 16GB which I have formatted before plugging in to router. I just want a simple network storage drive for my home. Nothing more than that!

Thanks heaps guys!

Hi and welcome to the forum. :)

This is a NAS forum. What is the model of your NAS?

Hi! Sorry I didn't realise this is just for NAS! I do not have a NAS. I just wanted to have a simple network drive setup at home so that me and my partner can access the files in the drive.

Ah, then you're in the wrong place. You'll need to find a macOS forum. ;)
