NFS connection encryption

Post by Philh74 » Thu Oct 10, 2019 5:34 pm

Hi all,
Just purchased a Qnap TS-1673-RP running OS 4.3.4.
We've got a couple of NFS shares on the box, which are accessed by NFS clients running centos 7.5. All works well, but I was wondering if there is a way to encrypt the NFS traffic on those connections?
I've done a bit of googling, and the few examples I've found relate to full Unix boxes acting as the NFS server, not a NAS. When I tried to replicate this config on the NAS, I found that due to the OS not being a full Unix version, a few necessary steps were not possible, as commands were not available and directory structure not the same etc...
Had anyone had any experience of trying to secure the traffic from a QNAP NFS share?
Thanks.
