Haugene Transmission OpenVPN Container

Post by dalle5 » Wed Sep 09, 2020 1:54 am

Hi All

I am hoping that some of you can help me getting this container to work?

I have succesfully started the container, and it does build the VPN to my provider succesfully as well. BUT, the container stops by it self after 10-20 seconds with no error code.

Has anyone succesfully installed this container, if so, how did you succeed :geek:

Transmission will run as
-------------------------------------
User name: root
User uid: 0
User gid: 0
-------------------------------------

DROPPING DEFAULT ROUTE

NO PORT UPDATER FOR THIS PROVIDER

Tue Sep 8 17:43:43 2020 Initialization Sequence Completed

I have uninstalled the Qvpn service, and installed the /dev/net/tun with a script:

#!/bin/sh

# Create the necessary file structure for /dev/net/tun
if ( [ ! -c /dev/net/tun ] ); then
if ( [ ! -d /dev/net ] ); then
mkdir -m 755 /dev/net
fi
mknod /dev/net/tun c 10 200
chmod 0755 /dev/net/tun
fi

# Load the tun module if not already loaded
if ( !(lsmod | grep -q "^tun\s") ); then
insmod /lib/modules/tun.ko
fi

Please help a container n00b :DD

I have had the exact same problem. Strangely, I once managed to get the container to run long enough to download a torrent (perhaps 45 minutes), but since then the container stops after 10-20 seconds.

I have tried both creating the container from the command line and using the web interface - both methods fail.

My log file ends with the same lines as quoted by dalle5.

Can anyone provide some tips on what to try?

I've been running this for a good while with no issues. I do have QVPN installed though as it wouldn't play until that was running.

When you install QVPN, this also installs a daemon that looks for other OpenVPN processes and kills them if it finds any. This is the cause of the issue. To resolve this and have haugene work as it should you can either uninstall QVPN, or you can keep it installed but edit out the following line from /etc/daemon_mgr.conf:

DAEMONxx = openvpn, stop, /usr/sbin/openvpn

After you remove that line from /etc/daemon_mgr.conf, restart the daemon manager by:

killall daemon_mgr

/sbin/daemon_mgr
