How do I forward ports in Host or Bridge mode

Post by ballymullaney » Wed Oct 14, 2020 6:55 am

Hi all,

I'm notice in the Container Station UI, you can only setup port forwarding if you choose NAT as your network mode. I can't seem to use this because the containers get weird ip addresses like 1.0.3.x etc that I cannot access. So I need to create containers preferably in bridge mode but how to I forward ports in this case?

Many thanks for any help

You aren’t supposed to access the 1.0.3.0 or 1.0.5.0 networks EXCEPT by port forwarding. You are supposed to communicate with these containers through the ports you expose to the physical adapters inside the containers. There is more than one way to do that depending on the container type. There is a tool under “network” inside the advanced settings for the container. If you built it with the custom app tool then you need to do it manually in the docker compose file.
