TS-419P II Stopped Working - Help ?

Post by stewartpedler » Tue Sep 08, 2020 1:49 am

Hi

I have a TS-419 II that is doing something very strange. It kept beeping and rebooting itself over and over again. When I logged in I noticed the firmware was out of date so went to update it. It is now running 4.3.3.1386

Once it updated it came back up but I couldn't connect to it and couldn't see it on the network. It kept rebooting itself for a couple of days. I installed QNAP Qfiner Pro 6.9.2 but it couldn't see anything on the network.

I watched it closely and realized there was a problem with Disk 1. I hot swapped this and then left it for another day or two. The STATUS light is flashing Red and Green every half second but I can see the server on Qfinder just fine. If I click on Configuration or Details I can login with the credentials and it displays results. From reading through this board for a few hours I figured it might be worth updating the Firmware again but if I click on Tools -> Update Firmware and try to login with the same credentials I get Login faliure: Invalid username or password.

I read this board some more and downloaded Putty and tried to SSH in on port 22, my IP address is 10.0.0.5 and 10.0.0.6 (Running a 10.0.0.x Subnet) but I get the Response "Network error: Connection refused" (Tried both IP addresses)

It failed on our 10th Wedding Anniversary - 10 years of family pictures on the NAS ! It's a bit old now and I was planning on buying a new one. Need to get this one up and running so I can transfer everything across.

Not sure what to do or try next - any help gratefully received.

Oh - I forgot to mention. Clearly the thing I tried to do before troubleshooting was to login with a web browser: http://10.0.0.5:8080/ When I type this the URL changes to http://10.0.0.5:8080/redirect.html?coun ... 6666525394 and it downloads a quick.cgi file but does nothing else. I looked on this board around that subject too and found some useful help to use Putty to SSH in on this link http://unofficialqnapsupport.net/quick-cgi-downlo ... -to-solve/ but since I can't seem to connect I can't

Type the command:

[~] # setcfg Misc Configured TRUE

Again - any help appreciated. I hope it's a relatively easy fix; I'm just about at the limit of my technical expertise.

Hi - I read this post and wanted to try that, as per the points above my problem is that I can't SSH into the NAS in order to try anything. Is there anyway to get some real time assistance from anywhere ?

Before updating the firmware, you probably should have backed up the data (as recommended by QNAP before performing firmware update) and looked a the logs to see why the unit kept rebooting.

The only type of real time assistance is to hire someone local that knows about QNAP or open a support tick with QNAP and wait for them to respond.

H/W: TS-509 Pro x2 / TS-569 Pro / TS-670 Pro (i7-3770S 16Gig) x2 / TS-853 Pro (8Gig)
