TAS-268: ALWAYS writes to disk! Never sleeps

Post by tommix » Fri May 05, 2017 1:00 am

Im pretty tired of all problems im having with QNAP device. Im not using any service exept SAMBA, and SSH. All other services disabled, there is no any app installed. ALl i need is bility to share files in windows network.
But looks like qnap having huge problems to work good. It never spinsdown disks, they are 55c temp. Always constant write to THE SAME SECTOR.

This is old problem many people reported it. Im windows guy i hate linux it's too complex for anything to do. So im noob at it.
All i want is to standby disks when they are not used, but qnap ** at firmware and itself uses those disks and never puts them to standby.

As you can see from logs i obtained using qnap bash script to find what prevents spindown - my qnap barely have any activity, so believe me -i disabled and uninstalled everything i can. There is only left system apps like Resource Monitor and SSL certificate.

Then sell your NAS and stop whining on the forum. You clearly don't want assistance (if you did, you'd stop offering opinions and start asking questions). Stick to your less 'complex' Windows.

Hahaha linux lover... Well in windows i dont have to hack system for 5 days to get disks to spin down! And after gazillion hours of searching the cause looks like i found it -stupid qnap nas never sleeps if there is network cable attached. No matter that EVERY other network device is turned off from power. If i disconnect cable it goes to sleep all good. the SECOND i connect cable and led blinks for first time on NAS -it wakes up HDD and will never spindown hdd again.
You can connect network cable how much you want on windows-never causes disks to wake up. SO pls shut up if you trying to lie that windows is more complex OS :)
QNAP **, one of most important features in home NAS is that disks go to sleep when nobody uses them. And looks like you have to kill every NAS feature so that qnap could turn off disks. SO how im bad here? i dont know, i know in this forum many qnap propagandists, but im honest man. Gazillion people have this problem, not me alone. Look at forum.
Had to disable EVERY single feature and still it cant spindown disks with Ethernet connected to empty network. And yes i dont need your assistance, cause your "help" is usless.

Also about TAS-268 WHAT A STUPID made this? If device dont have any disk -it just DOESNT WORK AT ALL!!! (AT ALL) even that it have 4GB of internal flash memory and android-NOPE you can not use it untill you put HDD.
SO pls come and tell me where im wrong, except buying this thing.
