I have a TS-453BE with four ST4000VN008-2DR166 IronWolf 4TB disks installed in a RAID 5 configuration and I believe the HDDs are not going in to standby. It is running QTS 184.108.40.2066.
Recently I had a remote support call and since then the TS-453BE has been noisier than before. The noise seems to come from the spinning disks as well as the fan on the back. Not sure whether this is relevant but the four HDD lights on the front are always illuminated; I would assume they would go out and the fan would stop in standby???
I had a look at https://www.qnap.com/en/how-to/faq/arti ... ndby-mode/ and followed the instructions here http://wiki.qnap.com/wiki/Find_out_whic ... m_spindown to find out what is preventing the disks going in to standby.
I've attached the resulting log file however I'm not sure how to to interpret it.
Does anyone have any idea from the log file why the HDDs don't seem to go in to standby?
